We went out with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on one of his journeys, and when we were in Al-Baida' or Dhat Al-Jaish, a necklace of mine broke and fell. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stayed there looking for it and the people stayed with him. There was no water near them, and they did not have water with them. The people came to Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, and said: 'Do you see what 'Aishah has done? She has made the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and the people stop and they are not near any water and they do not have water with them.' Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, came while the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was resting his head on my thigh and had gone to sleep. He said: 'You have detained the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and the people, and they are not near any water and they do not have any water with them.' 'Aishah said: Abu Bakr rebuked me and said whatever Allah willed he would say. He started poking me on my hip, and the only thing that prevented me from moving was the fact that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was resting on my thigh. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) slept until morning when he woke up without any water. Then Allah, the Mighty and Sublime revealed the verse of Tayammum. Usaid bin Hudair said: 'This is not the first time we have been blessed because of you, O family of Abu Bakr!' She said: Then we made the camel that I had been riding stand up, and we found the necklace beneath it.

:Telah mengabarkan kepada kami Muhammad bin Ubaid bin Muhammad dia berkata; Telah menceritakan kepada kami Abu Ahwash dari Abu Ishaq dari Najiyah bin Khufaf dari Ammar bin Yasir dia berkata; Aku pernah junub dan aku di atas unta. Aku tidak mendapatkan air maka aku lalu berguling-guling di debu seperti hewan yang sedang berguling-guling. Kemudian aku datang kepada Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam dan mengabarkan hal tersebut kepada beliau. Beliau shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam kemudian bersabda: Cukuplah bagimu bertayamum.

Abdullah bin Yasar the freed slave of Maimunah, and I came and entered upon Abu Juhaim bin Al-Harith bin Al-Sammah Al-Ansari. Abu Juhaim said: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came back from the direction of Bi'r Al-jamal and was met by a man who greeted him with Salam, but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did not return the greeting until he turned to the wall and wiped his face and hands, then he returned the greeting.'

:Telah mengabarkan kepada kami Muhammad bin Yahya bin Abdullah dia berkata; Telah menceritakan kepada kami Ya'qub bin Ibrahim dia berkata; Telah menceritakan kepada kami Bapaku dari Shalih dari Ibnu Syihab berkata; Telah menceritakan kepada kami Ubaidullah bin Abdullah bin Utbah dari Ibnu Abbas dari Ammar dia berkata; Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam mengistirahatkan pasukannya dan beliau bersama Aisyah -istrinya- dan ternyata kalungnya yang dari Akik Zhifar (daerah di Yaman) terputus maka orang-orang mencari kalung tersebut hingga terbit fajar sedangkan orang-orang tidak mempunyai air. Abu Bakar marah kepada Aisyah dan berkata Kamu menyebabkan manusia tertahan padahal mereka tidak mempunyai air! Lalu Allah Azza wa Jalla menurunkan keringanan tayamum dengan debu. Ammar berkata Lalu orang-orang berdiri bersama Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam mereka menepukkan kedua tangan ke tanah kemudian mengangkat tangan tanpa menghilangkan debu sedikitpun dan mengusapkannya ke wajah dan tangan sampai siku-siku dan dari telapak tangan mereka sampai ke ketiak.

I have become Junub and I do not have any water. 'Umar said: Do not pray. But 'Ammar bin Yasir said: O Commander of the Believers! Don't you remember when you and I were on a campaign and we became Junub and could not find water? You did not pray, but I rolled in the dust and prayed. Then we came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and told him about that, and he said: 'It would have been sufficient for you (to do this),' then the Prophet (ﷺ) struck his hands on the ground and blew on them, then wiped his face and hands with them' - (one of the narrators) Salamah was uncertain and did not know whether that was up to the elbows or just hands. And 'Umar said: We will let you bear the burden of what you took upon yourself.

:Telah mengabarkan kepada kami Al Abbas bin Abdul 'Azhim Al Anbari dia berkata; Telah menceritakan kepada kami Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Asma' dia berkata; Telah menceritakan kepada kami Juwairiyah dari Malik dari Az-Zuhri dari Ubaidillah bin Abdullah bin 'Utbah bahwa dia telah mengabarkan kepadanya dari Bapaknya dari Ammar bin Yasir dia berkata; Kami tayamum bersama Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam dengan debu. Kami mengusap wajah dan tangan sampai ke bahu.
